Subang-Kelana link now open for use

THE toll-free Subang-Kelana link is now open to the public but many motorists who are unaware of this continue to use the normal route via the Federal Highway to Subang Jaya.

The link, which was opened on Wednesday, connects the Subang airport road to Jalan Kewajipan via a bridge across the Federal Highway.

Those buying alcoholic beverages from convenience stores in Selangor may have to produce their MyKad to show that they are non-Muslims and above the age of 18.

This move is in line with the state government’s decision that convenience stores should practise self-regulation in the sale of alcoholic beverages instead of banning its sale in Muslim-majority areas.

Beer sale rule: no display, sale only on request

Convenience stores in Shah Alam will practise self-regulation in the sale of beer and alcoholic drinks to respect the sensitivities of the Muslim community on the issue, including not displaying such drinks and only selling them on request at the cashier's counter.

Boosting income of homestay operators

THE Selangor state government is drawing up programmes to boost the income of homestay programme operators.

Selangor deputy tourism chairman Edward Lee said the state would organise talks with the participants and find out how to turn the programme into a more lucrative income generator.
