A(H1N1): Another school closed

A second school was ordered closed for a week yesterday after an 11-year-old pupil was tested positive for influenza A(H1N1), while three other schools were told to stop a class each, rousing fears whether enough was being done to contain the disease.

The order to temporarily close Sekolah Rendah Kebangsaan Assunta 2 in Petaling Jaya comes only a day after SJK (C) Jalan Davidson was similarly closed till Friday.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Mohd Ismail Merican said the ministry had also asked Seri Cempaka International School, Batu 9 Cheras, Selangor; Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Seksyen 9 Shah Alam and Sekolah Menengah Damansara Utama in Petaling Jaya to stop a class each.
