Health declaration mandatory for visitors to Malaysia

It will soon be mandatory for visitors entering Malaysia at all entry points to fill up a health declaration form, said Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

Visitors failing to fill the form can be fined not more than RM10,000 or jailed for two years or both under Section 15 of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases 1988, he added.

Stating that the Health Ministry will gazette the health declaration form next week, he added that the mandatory ruling is among 10 steps outlined by the Influenza A (H1N1) technical committee to combat the pandemic.
