Penang Hospital Restrict Visitors

In George Town, Penang Hospital director Dr Juita Ghazalie advised healthy people to keep away from the hospital.

She also advised those with fever and cough to refrain from visiting patients at the hospital.

Dr Juita said the hospital had introduced strict visiting restrictions.

She said children below the age of 12 were also barred from the hospital's premises unless to seek treatment.

"We will allow only two visitors, above the age of 12, at a time to visit a patient in the ward."

She said visiting hours had been shortened in line with Health Ministry precautionary measures to curb the outbreak of influenza A.
