Penang Hill train service resumes

The Penang Hill funicular train service has resumed following a power and transformer failure on Thursday.

Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng’s political secretary Ng Wei Aik said the service resumed at 8.30pm on Thursday after repairs were completed at the top and middle stations.

“We’ve identified the problem and the main cause is the TNB power supply sub-station in Air Itam which malfunctioned and disrupted electricity supply,” he told a press conference here yesterday.
