A GROUP of tourists were treated to an explosion of colour and culture when they were taken to an opera performance held on the eve of the Chinese Hungry Ghost Festival.
After spending the day visiting Penang’s heritage areas, they headed to Seck Chuan Lane, just off Chulia Street, to witness the preparations for the opera, pose for pictures with the performers and even participate in ritual prayers to the King of Hades.
