A(H1N1): No new deaths, 87 new cases

The number of fatalities due to Influenza A (H1N1) in the country stood at 72 with no new deaths having been recorded by health authorities in the past 24 hours.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Ismail Merican said 87 new patients were warded for influenza-like illness (ILI), while 160 had been discharged.

“A total of 1,238 patients are being treated for ILI nationwide, including in private hospitals, and of the number, only 264 were confirmed Influenza A (H1N1) cases,” he said on Wednesday.
