HERITAGE experts from Unesco and other parts of the region will come together for a brainstorming session to revitalise the George Town World Heritage Site.
InvestPenang executive chairman Datuk Lee Kah Choon said they would take part in The Penang International Conference on Sustainable Cultural Development at G Hotel on Oct 8 and 9.
Lee, who is organising committee chairman, said Bangkok Unesco office’s programme specialist for culture Timothy Curtis, Mayor of Vigan City of the Philippines Eva Mari Medina and Professor of College of Innovation, Thammasat University in Thailand Dr Walter Jamieson would be involved.
Others are Japan national committee member of the Board of Directors of International Council on Monuments and Sites Prof Yoshifumi Muneta and Sri Lanka’s Galle Fort Hotel partner Karl Stein.
The conference is jointly organised by InvestPenang, Penang Development Corporation (PDC), Penang Municipal Council and the World Heritage Office.
