PENANG has come up with a way to recycle the thousands of old and illegal advertisement banners collected by the two municipal councils every month — by turning them into shopping bags.
State Health, Welfare, Caring Society and Environment Committee chairman Phee Boon Poh said these reusable and durable bags would be made available to associations and organisations for free on the condition that they be sold for charity at a recommended price of RM10 or above.
