Briton Stephen Paul Mitchell was so enamoured by the beauty of Penang island that he decided to hold a simple Malay traditional wedding on the beach in Tanjung Bunga.
Mitchell, 26, who visited the state two years ago, discussed the idea with his wife Claire Louise Blackwell, 24, who agreed that it would be something extraordinary.
The groom, who was clad in a sky blue baju Melayu complete with a songkok, and the bride in light blue baju kurung looked resplendent as they made their way to the stage and sat on the dais during their wedding ceremony yesterday.
