Immigration bigwig, officers transferred on 24hr notice

The assistant director of Immigration heading operations at the Penang International Airport, Fatimah Hashim, and 12 officers have been transferred out on 24-hour notice effective Thursday.

State Immigration director Abdul Rahman Harun said the action was taken following the case of passengers on a Hong Kong-bound flight being stranded for 55 minutes on Sept 28 because no Immigration officers were on duty.
